Overview

Focus group event to obtain the views and perceptions of a cross-section of residents of the Borough on housing issues, particularly in relation to the housing market, so that those perceptions could be compared to those obtained through a similar event in 2006.

The focus group investigated perceptions of the state of the housing market in Barrow and the quality and choice of housing available. Participants were also asked if they believe there were sufficient suitable homes for young families, older people and those with special needs.  The focus group also looked at the perceptions of the opportunities for young people to buy a first home and also participants’ attitudes towards plans for proposed housing developments in key regeneration areas.
