2022-23 School Admission Arrangements for Community and Voluntary Controlled Schools

Closes 17 Nov 2020

Opened 7 Oct 2020

Overview

All schools must have admission arrangements that clearly set out how children will be admitted, including the criteria that will be applied if there are more applications than places at the school.  Admission arrangements are determined by admission authorities.  Cumbria County Council (the local authority) is the admission authority for all community and voluntary controlled schools in Cumbria.

Why We Are Consulting

The School Admissions Code 2014 requires admission authorities to consult where changes are proposed to admission arrangements which will apply in the following academic year. As the admission authority for all community and voluntary controlled schools in Cumbria, the local authority is seeking views on the proposed admission arrangements and the co-ordinated admission scheme for 2022-23. For more information, including who admission authorities need to consult with, please refer to the School Admissions Code at      https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/389388/School_Admissions_Code_2014_-_19_Dec.pdf
