Overview

The Go Lakes Travel Programme is a four year, £4.89 million initiative funded by the Department for Transport and delivered in partnership by the Lake District National Park Authority, Cumbria County Council and Cumbria Tourism. Between 2011 and 2015 we are delivering a variety of schemes designed to generate a step change in how visitors travel around the central and south east Lake District and enable them to make greater use of sustainable modes of travel. The aim is to increase the opportunities to get around the Lake District without a car, to reduce the impact on the local environment and community, and to help make visitors’ trips to the area more enjoyable and relaxing. Local residents will of course be able to share these benefits. For more information about the programme, please visit www.golakestravel.co.uk

Why We Are Consulting

We would like to hear your views on our proposed scheme to improve and upgrade the rights of way around Rydal and Grasmere to enable people to cycle safely from Ambleside to Grasmere. The map link shows the work we want to carry out.
