The enforcement policy for private sector housing has been updated to reflect additional legislation, and to better deal with and target the small minority of bad landlords. Landlords are invited to comment on the new draft Private Sector Housing Enforcement Policy. It explains how Eden District Council as the Local Housing Authority (LHA) aims to tackle the problems and issues within the district, such as properties in the private sector that are in poor repair, non-decent and have serious hazards. Please forward any comments you have to the Environment Health Officer (contact details opposite).

Why We Are Consulting

The Council is consulting as part of an ongoing commitment to communicate effectively with landlords and take their views into consideration.

What Happens Next

After consultation feedback is taken into consideration, revised policy will be formally adopted at Housing Portfolio meeting.
