Council tax hardship scheme consultation 2020

Closed 28 Jun 2020

Opened 28 May 2020

The Council collects Council tax from the majority of homes in the district. There is a Council Tax Reduction Scheme to reduce the amount payable in certain circumstances, but there are occasions when the Council Tax Reduction Scheme may not apply or where there would still be hardship in making Council tax payments once all other reductions have been applied.

Council considered a draft Council tax hardship scheme on 20 May 2020.

Why your views matter

We welcome comments and views on the proposed Council tax hardship scheme. Final proposals will be considered by Cabinet on 24 June 2020 and approved by Council on 30 June 2020.

Ideally comments should be submitted by 15 June 2020 to be incorporated into the Cabinet proposals but all comments received up to 28 June 2020 will be considered.
